BACKGROUND of Frontier University

Frontier University (FU) was established in late 2011. It started as Institute or college (Frontier College), a leading center for English Language and Development studies in Somalia, and has grown to be one of the most prominent private universities in Mogadishu. FU offers wide range of industry-relevant programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in collaboration with world leading universities.

FU currently has an enrolment of over 2000 undergraduates and Diplomas from more than 12 regions around Somalia. FU accomplishes its programs with quality education in the areas of management and humanities, Science with the aim of producing qualified, skillful graduates with excellent leadership qualities and communication abilities.

Frontier College (The origin of the university) is ranked as the top college in teaching English language and development studies, therefore, FU promises to continue providing distinctive educational opportunities to its students and bridge the talent gap.

FU understands the importance of Research and Development and aims to achieve the status of an internationally renowned Research University.

The University has Seven main faculties – Faculty of Earth and Natural Resources, Faculty of economics and management sciences, Faculty of health sciences, Faculty of agriculture, faculty Computer Science and Information Technology and Faculty of Shari ‘a and law, and Faculty of English and Literature.

The Departments provide courses that are aimed at producing graduates with technical capacity, as well as qualities such as strong leadership, good behavioral and communication skills, analytical thinking ability, as well as managerial, business and social competencies, so that they can deal with the challenges of 21st century and contribute positively to developing Somalia.
